Outside

I hope everybody had a very happy Easter!
We had a good weekend at home and spent lots of time outside.
Redbuds are blooming. Ever since moving here, I have wanted some of those trees and after having the pine trees cut down a few years ago, we finally got some. The blooms get better every year!

We started cleaning up the pool area. Took the cover off, got rid off all the leaves and started sprucing things up.

Last week I bought a few new planters and added them to the pool area. The horseshoe fish was made by my friends husband.

Savvy and Harley enjoyed their time outside as well.

Several years ago we planted some pampas grass on the outside of the pool area. We have never cut it back before and it had gotten totally out of control. It was time to cut it back and Greg did just that this weekend.

You cannot imagine how big that pile was, we really didn't have any other way to get rid of it all except to burn it. The stuff was so dry, it was gone in no time.

The blueberry bushes have lots of blooms on them this year!

                                                                  Cilantro and Dill.

                                                                 Koriander und Dill.
I hope the rhubarb keeps growing like this and we get to harvest lots of it!

Waiting for the lilies to start blooming.

  10. Anke, I know exactly how you feel about your Redbuds. When we moved here I had to leave behind the redbud that Carroll had dug for me in the woods and transplanted at the house. It was absolutely amazing each spring. Last year, for Mother's Day , he bought me a redbud at Lowe's and planted it in the back yard where I could see it when I washed dishes. It is full of buds this year, but we've not had enough warm weather yet to allow them to open up.

Everything looks so nice...and I love the fish! Talented man!
