Sunshine + bike + walking trail = perfect day

Today the sun was shining, the temps were back in the 50's and we were itching to get out of the house.
Both girls were off babysitting, so Greg and I decided to bundle up and go for a bike ride.
He's been planning different routes for us to take and today was definitely a good one.
We left the house around 1:30 and got back home around 4 hours later - by then it was actually getting pretty chilly.
We rode out to the green mountain nature preserve and walked the trail, so nice to be outside and the area was beautiful!!

Overall it was a great day! The only bad experience we had was with a couple of dogs. While riding on a gravel road, three dogs decided to chase us and one (a great Pyrenees) actually bit Greg. The owners just stood there and watched and we were just glad Greg was wearing his chaps and that's all the dog got a hold of. Pretty scary to be on a bike while being chased by dogs...

  1. What an interesting place you went for your bike ride. And you see so much more when the leaves are off the trees. Very scary about the dog attack and that your husband got bit. Around here a dog gets to do that twice and if it happens again, the owners have to surrender their dog. Leash laws protect the dogs and the people!!

    1. What aggravated me the most about this was the fact that the people just stood there and did absolutely nothing. Didn't even try to call the dogs back...

  2. Beautiful views! Glad you had such a great day today, Anke. Glad to know that Greg is okay. I can only imagine how scary that was to be chased by the dogs when you were on the bike. Hugs.

  3. What a shame such a beautiful day had to have a bout with dogs. Glad Greg was ok, but isn't it something how people have to have these animals, but don't keep them under control. You were lucky.......someone else might not be!

    1. I really hate it when people don't control their pets. It was a gravel road with only a few houses on it, but still they should make sure their animals don't chase people.

  4. I am so glad you were able to get out and enjoy a beautiful day despite the dog episode, that could have been really bad. The weather here has been awesome and we are enjoying the sunshine too.

  5. Wow, looks like a beautiful ride. Dogs are the worst when you are on a bike, I can't tell you how many have chased me down over the years. Glad Greg was okay.

    1. Isn't it awful when people don't have enough sense to keep their animals under control? I can imagine how scary it must be while riding a bicycle. Since we were on a gravel road I was worried Greg might loose control of the motorcycle or we might hit one of the dogs.

  6. do not get me started on loose dogs! We sometimes have that problem here and I get so angry. Frodo does not like dogs (go figure) and he growls at them no matter what their size. I am glad everyone is okay and I'm sorry that that happened to you.

Love your bright blue days in your photos!!!

    1. It really makes me mad when people just let their dogs run around without a leash. We had a dog attack one of ours a few years ago and I just about lost it. Yesterday Greg was really lucky that he was wearing his leather chaps, otherwise that dog would have really hurt him.

  7. Sounds like the perfect way to spend an afternoon. I agree with you about dogs especially when folks just stand and watch, it's almost as bad as them saying they won't hurt you - how can they know?

    1. They didn't have a care in the world, like it didn't even affect them...

  8. At first I thought you took a 'bicycle' ride, but then the chaps gave it away. SO sorry about the dogs; what weird people would just watch that??? Glad you were able to get some fresh air and lovely photos to share.

    1. He was really lucky he had those chaps on Suz! In hindsight, I'm surprised at myself for not yelling at the people to get it together and grab their dogs...
