Snowmageddon 2015

Yesterday was another day home from school because we were expecting lots of snow.
They declared state of emergency and then we waited...
It was supposed to start in the morning, then around noon, then around 2...
At 4 in the afternoon it started to snow - and it didn't stop...

Around 6 I went outside to get Nadia to come in. They'd been building an igloo for a while, she was soaking wet and it was getting dark.

Before we went to bed - still coming down.
This morning when I went out to feed the chickens I found this:

We got 7 inches total in just one day. The 4th highest total in Huntsville history!

  1. I'm sure this late in the season you don't want this--but ya gotta admit--it is STUNNING.

    1. It's all good Sue, when we get snow like that we don't go to work or school. :-)

    1. I know, people up north probably laugh at this but for us this doesn't happen often and when it does we have to make the most/best of it.

  4. Oh my goodness, Anke! You have more snow in your yard than we do in ours...and you live in the South! We had a few little flurries this morning...I think most of this storm went to the east of us.

    1. Karen, most of it is gone already and the rest should probably melt today. It's ok though, it was fun while it lasted.
