A little help...

When a friend is in
trouble, don't annoy him
by asking if there is
anything you can do.
Think up something
appropriate and do it.

Edgar Watson Howe

I can't really give away too much information, but here is what's going on:
I know a young mom of two young children who was recently diagnosed with cancer. It is a very difficult time for the whole family but of course it is worst for the mom. She has started chemo therapy which is making her feel terribly nauseous and is causing her to loose her hair.
I decided I am going to knit her a hat (or two or three) and then decided to ask for help.
I think it would be wonderful if I was able to present her with lots of different hats to keep her warm and brighten her spirits.
This is where all my knitter and crocheter friends come in! Would you care to knit or crochet  a hat and send it to me so I could pass it on?
If so, please e-mail me at:
Knittinglove@outlook.com
Thank you!

  4. What a wonderful friend you are. I will have a look in my stash to see if I have some suitable wool to make a hat. Would it be best in cotton or wool do you think?

    1. Thank you so very much!! I don't know if wool or cotton really matters, as long as it's not scratchy. If you would send me an e-mail to the address above, I would send you my home address. Thank you again!!

    1. That is what I was hoping for. Instead of a prayer shawl it'll be a cozy warm hat - or several. :-) Thank you for helping Karen, I appreciate it so much!

  7. 5 years ago I did a project in memory of my brother, Tony. In celebration of what would have been his 50th birthday, I knit 50 hats to donate to the treatment centre. While I have never heard on anyone using one of these hats, I imagine that someone was warm and snuggly while wearing one of them.
Good luck to your friend on her treatment and recovery. blessings gwenda

  9. Anke...it is our joy to pray and use our talents to help others and encourage them while going through something so painful. I found you through Tracey, and yes, I would like to make a hat also. When it is done, do you let us know where to send it?
