Scenes from the kitchen

Lately in the kitchen I've made:
Our first homemade vanilla frozen yogurt with blueberry puree. The kids said it was "waaaay" better than any ice cream they ever had.
Since I harvested quite a bit of garlic, I roasted some to have on hand. I LOVE roasted garlic!
While browsing on pinterest, I saw a recipe for honeysuckle jelly. Since we love the smell of it, I thought I'd give it a try. The recipe only makes one jar at a time, but it really is very tasty.
Bread dough and doughnut dough rising.
Brot und Doughnutteig beim Aufgehen.
My first ever homemade doughnuts - and they're squash doughnuts! There's only 2 tbs of sugar in the dough and whatever sugar you coat them in. The girls (and their friends) went crazy for the doughnuts and I kept my secret ingredient to myself for a while. :-) I did finally tell them, but by then they had decided they really liked them.
Some of the daily garden harvest. We are eating a lot of cucumbers right now. :-)
So sieht die taegliche Ernte aus. Wir essen im Augenblick ganz viele Gurken. :-)
For dinner last night I made these gnocchi. I made them earlier in the day and then just browned them a bit in rice bran oil. Both girls had friends over to spend the night and these were a hit with all of them.
And a kitchen fail... This is actually soap I made yesterday and not something edible, but since it was made in the kitchen I thought it would fit in with the rest. This is a batch of soap made with avocado oil and avocado butter. The recipe itself works great, I just decided to add a loofah sponge to the mold. :-( You can see how that turned out... In my mind this was going to be pretty and something different - well it's different alright. Guess I won't be giving any of that soap away as gifts...

  6. Oh my, could you put some of that yogurt in a box and mail it to me? And since it's 6:30a.m., I'd appreciate it arriving within the next hour. I can't bear another day of eating Fiber One.
