Yarn along

I can't believe it's been weeks since I last participated in the yarn along... There is always some form of knitting going on, I just never remembered to take a picture in time...
I'm still knitting on the cardigan with the baby alpaca yarn I brought from Germany. The yarn is a dream, but I'm not having as much fun as I normally do knitting. My only guess is, it's because I can't quite picture the outcome yet. I mean, I've seen the picture in the magazine, I read the pattern multiple times, and yet some of the steps still take me "by surprise". The cardigan is knit sideways in one piece and the decreases, picking up stitches, measuring to make sure the sides are even is just not as easy as I had imagined. So, it will definitely get finished, but I'm taking my time.
Hannah finally got me reading the Hunger Games trilogy and I am so glad she did. She has read the series probably three times already (once mandatory reading in school) and kept talking very highly of it. Well, she was right, I can hardly put the books down...

  1. Checking in to see what you're up to....always love to check out your knitting projects. I have to tell you, I am so jealous of your spring...we still have a way to go before the spring flowers come out of hiding. Be safe today....looks like your area is in the path of some pretty nasty storms!! Take care!

  4. I keep seeing this "Hunger Games" everywhere and never even heard of it until last month. I'm so out of it. I think I'll pick it up for John. He should like it!

  5. I loved the Hunger Games, I hope you do too! I know what you mean about not being able to picture the outcome, that always helps me too. I once knit a hat sideways and I wasn't sure what was going on until the very end. It turned out great though, and I'm sure yours will too.

  6. Hi!
Just stopping in with the Yarn Along.
Sometimes I feel like patterns are written in a foreign language... oh, wait. My current one is! In German too! (And sorry, I don't speak German...)
    Happy knitting!

  8. I saw the hunger games movie preview, and I've realized that I really need to read the book! (Actually, it's on my hulu right now!) I have so much trouble when I can't "see" a pattern in my head, you're not alone...

  9. I need to visualise whatever I'm knitting or sewing too. If I can't see where one bit of it goes, it totally throws me. Good luck with the cardigan. Sounds gorgeous yarn.
