Lamp redo

My friend had this lamp that she wanted to get rid of. She tried to sell it at a yard sale, but nobody wanted to buy it. She was going to threw it away, but I decided to take it and see if I could breathe new life into it. Greg thought it was the ugliest thing he had ever seen and couldn't believe I wanted to keep it.
Fast forward two weeks... this is what the lamp looks like now. It's in our guest room where we've needed a bedside lamp now for (only) three years. What do you think?
Was haltet ihr vom Ergebnis?
Tried a new bread recipe last night, this one is a pumpkin bread. I had some for breakfast this morning, and I think it is pretty good.
Pumpkin bread
3/4 cup sourdough starter
1/3 cup water
1 cup canned pumpkin
3 1/2 cups bread flour
1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon (used only 1 tsp)
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg (freshly grated)
3 tbs sugar
3/4 tsp salt
1 1/2 tbs butter
1 tsp active dry yeast
As always, the dough was made in the bread machine on the dough setting. Once done, shape into a loaf (this dough was pretty wet and sticky) and place on baking stone sprinkled with cornmeal. Let rise for about an hour, brush top with water and sprinkle sesame seeds (optional) on top. Place a bowl of water in oven, bake for 50 minutes at 350. Always place baking stone and bread in cold oven! Take the loaf out, brush with water one more time and return to oven -now turned off- for another 10 minutes. Cool on wire rack, covered with towel.

Since I ran out of store bought scouring powder yesterday, it was time to start making my own.
1 cup baking soda
1 cup salt
1 cup borax
Mix and store in closed container. I will probably put some in an old (fairly large) salt shaker to be able to shake out as much as I need instead of dumping it out of a jar.
